How much rest does a person need?

Day after day, we learn to deepen our knowledge and use our skills. But who teaches us to take a break properly? In this workshop for children, we want to take a break and think about what "doing nothing" or "resting" means to us.

Large colourful fabric cubes and large green sheets of paper cut out in the shape of tree leaves and on which the children have painted lie on the floor in the Gropius Bau.

Anyone who wants to be creative needs time to let ideas mature. We can recharge our batteries during breaks. They provide an opportunity to take care of ourselves. But it is often difficult to take breaks – even though we actually know how important they are.

This workshop starts with a short introduction. After that we want to do nothing at all for a while, so that our thoughts, wishes and ideas can unfold. Surrounded by Emeka Ogboh’s artwork Ámà: The Gathering Place we will playfully exchange our ideas. Afterwards, we will try out how to find peace and relaxation through a guided meditation.
